The low indifference index of the cat, particularly the flung cat, has been exploited to tremendous effect in sport and warfare. This same negative lack of indifference has also been responsible for a series of attempts to destroy every trace of the practice of cat flinging, the most heinous case of revision and manipulation of historical records currently known.
But the art of flinging can generate equally non-indifferent positive reactions, and on this positive note, few activities which are not either illegal or damaging to one's health, are quite as satisfying as flinging a large cat. There is nothing quite like an afternoon spent flinging cats to bring a group of people together -- it clearly brings out the finer feelings and inspires both the artistic and athletic impulses. And while nearly all sports, when examined critically, are found to be totally inane, unlike flingery, most of them make presence not to be.
